About Us

The St. Cloud Area Human Service Council was formed in 1997 and serves as a vehicle for connecting key players who create positive community change. United Way of Central Minnesota serves as the home base and fiscal sponsor for the Council.

Mission: a membership organization that improves the ability of local human service providers to respond to changing and growing needs through self-education, collaborative initiatives and awareness of resources.

Over 60 human service organizations, school districts, funding entities, area businesses and government programs are members. Meetings are held from 7:45 - 9:30 am on the 2nd Thursday morning of every other month beginning in August of each year (August, October, December, February, April and June).

Meetings include networking opportunities, a brief council business meeting and education programs focused on current issues and leadership skills development. Past programs have included: member highlights, legislative updates, candidate forums, panels on a variety of different local topics, personal growth and leadership trainings, statewide organizations that support nonprofits, key local issues and trends impacting human services.

Additional membership benefits include automatic enrollment in an email listserv, providing members with a convenient way to exchange information and resources with fellow Council members. Each year, the Human Service Council Leadership Team organizes an affordable or free training session exclusively for participating members.

How to e-mail information to the entire Human Service Council: e-mail from an address registered as part of your membership and send an e-mail to listserv@scahsc.org.  The message including any attachments must not be larger than 5MB in size. In order to send or receive messages on this listserv your e-mail address must be registered as part of your membership.
